School run

My grandson asked why I always put his mittens in the dryer but they're still wet when we leave for the bus

Sweet boy handed me his soggy mittens after playing in the snow, and I popped them right in the dryer with a smile.

Punchline

Ten minutes later, we're running for the bus and I'm handing him warm, soaking mittens. Turns out I never actually turned the dryer on—I just opened the door, tossed them in, and declared victory.

It's the same energy as putting the nightlight in his room but never plugging it in. The effort was there, darling. The execution took a little nap.
