My grandson asked why I always put the wrapping paper back in the closet but wrap his birthday presents on the kitchen floor
The wrapping paper lives in the hall closet. Top shelf, organized, right next to the gift bags I've been reusing since 2019. It's a system.
But when it's time to actually wrap something? Kitchen floor. Every time. Because that's where the scissors are (in the junk drawer), the tape is (on the counter), and the space is (if I move the dog's bowl).
Plus the closet doesn't have snacks within arm's reach.
Punchline
I told him it's called "venue-appropriate craftsmanship" — the kitchen floor has better lighting for my freestyle corners.
